Performs administrative duties under the direction of the physician. Duties include coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures and follow-up appointments. Works with office and clinical staff to coordinate scheduling of patients. Obtains insurance pre-authorization and pre-surgical clearance. Additional aadministrative duties may include maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.
Qualifications: Strong knowledge of medical terminology required.
Minimum of 3 years in physician practice performing related office duties is required. Working knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT4 coding. Proficient typing and keyboarding skills. Strong customer focus. Effective and polite telephone skills
